GUIDELINES

The Liminal Review will only publish work from Wenatchee High School students.

Pieces must be school-appropriate, original work, and follow specific submission guidelines. 

You will be asked to write short descriptions of your art and an Artist's Statement about the inspiration behind your piece in the submission form.

POETRY

  • Submit up to 3 poems (no more than 1-page). Not all poems will be selected, but all will be read.​​

  • There is no required line spacing.

  • Please submit in 12 pt. Times New Roman or Garamond Font (for online submissions)

Short fiction / nonfiction

  • Up to 2000 words.​​

  • Please submit in 12 pt. Times New Roman or Garamond Font, double-spaced (for online submissions)

  • May be an excerpt from a larger work (such as a novel) but must make sense on its own.

ESSAY / REVIEW

  • Up to 2000 words.​​

  • Please submit in 12 pt. Times New Roman or Garamond Font, double-spaced (for online submissions)

  • May be a review of a book, movie, film, etc. Must be school-appropriate. 

  • Sources are included at the bottom (including sourcing for the book or film being reviewed)

  • Do not submit essays written for school assignments. You may submit essays written outside of class.

VISUAL ART

Non-digital artwork (painting, sketch, sculpture, etc.)

  • You will submit a photo of your work.

  • Please ensure your photo is well-lit and framed so we can only see the artwork.

DIGITAL ARTWORK

  • You may submit a PDF or JPEG file.

OTHER

Photography

  • You may submit a JPEG or PDF file for photography.

  • School-appropriate work.

SHORT FILM

  • You can either upload an up-to-1 GB file or submit a YouTube link.

  • REMEMBER: Short films will not be featured in our printed edition. Short Films will only be featured on the website.

  • 5-minutes max.

  • There is no theme or prompt to follow.
