a note from the editors
Liminality is the space before a threshold, the ambiguity that arises in the confusing middle of a transitional phase, what lies between life and death.
High School is a crucial part of our journey toward adulthood: toward college, training, work, or whatever else may come after.
These four years are for preparing, exploring, and searching but also for feeling overwhelmed and confused. It is a time to find people we connect with and discover what we are passionate about. It is a time for floundering and immersing ourselves in our hobbies, goals, and chaotic surroundings.

Liminality is ambiguous, shapeless, and intangible. It is waiting to be defined.
Our high school experience, though stressful and complex, is ours to shape.

The Liminal Review is seeking work that matters to you. We are looking for words that find you in your liminal space in life and help you define yourself. We are looking for your creativity — in whatever form you wish to offer it.

Best of Luck,
Editor Eva Phillippi
